Town Forest Maps

The Plainfield Conservation Commission and The Maplehill School joined together to place maps at the two trailheads of the Plainfield Town Forest.

Sarah, from the Conservation Commission, and Peter & Harry from the Maplehill School, spent part of their weekend placing clearly marked signs showing the layout of the Plainfield Town Forest. In the future there will be pamphlets showing the trails, which should be marked during the season.

The Town Forest is located at the end of Maxfield Rd (off Brook Road) & Gonyeau Road (off Upper Road). There are trailheads with parking at both entrances.Note: the Gonyeau Road section to the parking area is still fairly rough so only travel in appropriate vehicles. It should be in better shape by June.

The Plainfield Town Forrest offers wonderful opportunities for everyone but remember to be respectful of the neighbors. The private land is clearly marked please make sure you remain in the boundaries of the town land.

All this work is made possible through the hard work of volunteers. Please consider giving some time to help improve the town forest or lending a hand to a number of other town projects.

  1. I?m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that?s both educative and entertaining, and let me
tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.

I am very happy I found this during my search for something
    relating to this.
